Safiya is proof that the apprenticeship program works.
She started at Noble K9 as a kennel tech, doing the early mornings, the cleaning, the grunt work most people don't want to do. But she showed up, paid attention, and proved she was willing to learn. That led to a 12-month apprenticeship where she worked alongside our senior trainers, learning everything from foundation obedience to behaviour modification to what it takes to run professional training programs.
Now she works full time, leading our kennel tech team and training dogs across all our programs. She's come up through the system, which means she understands every part of the operation and what it takes to get results.
What makes Safiya effective is her patience and her ability to work with shy, nervous, or uncertain dogs. Not every dog comes in confident and ready to work. Some dogs shut down. Some are fearful. Some need time to build trust before they can learn. Safiya knows how to read those dogs, move at their pace, and bring them out of their shell without pushing too hard or too fast.
Most of her work focuses on bettering obedience. Foundation commands, reliability, impulse control, the skills every dog needs to be manageable and well-behaved. She's methodical, consistent, and doesn't skip steps. Dogs that train with Safiya leave with solid, reliable obedience because she takes the time to build it right.
Safiya's story is a reminder that if you're willing to work, show up, and put in the effort, there's a real career path here. She started cleaning kennels. Now she's training dogs and leading a team. That's what happens when you take the work seriously.
