Reactivity & Behaviour Modification

If your dog's behaviour has made daily life stressful, unpredictable, or unsafe, this program is designed to address the root causes and create lasting change. We work with dogs others have given up on.

Who This Program Is For

These problems don't improve on their own. Without intervention, they escalate and limit every part of your life.

This program is for owners dealing with serious behaviour issues that haven't improved with other methods.

This program is ideal if your dog has:

  • Lunging, barking, or snapping at people or dogs on walks
  • Aggression when approached, touched, or handled
  • Biting or bite attempts with guests, family members, or strangers
  • Guarding food bowls, toys, furniture, or specific spaces
  • Reactivity that makes walks impossible or forces you to avoid public spaces
  • Anxiety-based aggression or panic responses to triggers
  • Dogs that have been labelled "dangerous" or "unfixable"
Common problems we address
  • Aggression towards people or dogs
  • Leash reactivity, lunging, or barrier frustration
  • Bite history or concerning warning signs
  • Resource guarding (food, toys, space, people)
  • Fear-based aggression or anxiety-driven behaviour
  • Failed previous training programs without improvement

This is not basic obedience. This is behaviour modification for dogs with real problems that limit your life and create safety concerns.

Our approach

Behaviour modification addresses the root cause, not just the symptoms. Reactivity and aggression stem from fear, lack of structure, unclear communication, or learned behaviour. We identify what's driving the problem and work systematically to change it.

How we approach behaviour modification:

  • Identify triggers and thresholds through careful assessment
  • Build foundation obedience and impulse control
  • Use controlled desensitization and counter-conditioning
  • Establish clear boundaries and consistent expectations
  • Proof behaviour in real-world environments with graduated exposure
  • Equip you with management strategies and long-term tools

We use balanced training methods appropriate to each dog's temperament and history. Tools may include muzzle conditioning, e-collars, and structured environmental management. The goal is a dog that's calmer, more predictable, and safe to live with.

Owner education is non-negotiable. You need to understand what triggers your dog, how to manage high-risk situations, and how to maintain progress long-term.

What's included

Behaviour Assessment and Trigger Identification
We identify what causes the reactive or aggressive response and map your dog's thresholds.

Foundation Obedience and Impulse Control
Basic commands aren't enough. We build reliable responsiveness and self-control under pressure.

Controlled Desensitization to Triggers
Gradual exposure to triggers in a controlled way that reduces reactivity without flooding your dog.

Threshold Training and Emotional Regulation
Teaching your dog to stay calm below their trigger threshold and recover when overstimulated.

Muzzle Conditioning (If Required)
Positive muzzle training for safety during higher-risk exposures or public outings.

Real-World Exposure in Graduated Stages
Progressive work in parks, trails, public spaces, and around triggers to proof behaviour.

Owner Coaching and Management Plan
How to handle your dog safely, recognize warning signs, and manage situations you can't avoid.

Results you can expect
  • A calmer dog that's more predictable and manageable in everyday situations
  • Reduced reactivity to triggers that used to cause lunging, barking, or aggression
  • Tools to handle your dog safely in public and around people or other dogs
  • Confidence to take your dog places you've been avoiding for months or years
  • A clear management plan for high-risk situations and ongoing maintenance

This program doesn't promise perfection. It promises real, measurable improvement and the tools to manage your dog safely long-term.

I couldn't be happier with the program and results.
I highly recommend Noble K9!! My Higgins went there for the board and train program (4 weeks) and I couldn't be happier with the program and results. They are the only place I trust with my dog and use them regularly for their exceptional boarding services as well when I am traveling. Great people and facilities as well!

Reactivity Training Results

Hundreds of happy clients and well-behaved pups

Tyana is an absolute gem! She took on both of our dogs at the same time for board and train and changed our lives! In addition to rehabilitating our reactive golden, she worked with me to train our young lab to become my PTSD service dog. I am so grateful for all of her hard work and expertise she truly is amazing at what she does! We will 100% be back with any future pups 🐶

There are no words to describe my gratitude. I walked in to my first session with a very strong leash pulling reactive dog feeling desperate and as though I had failed my pup. After just the first of 6 sessions i experienced significant change in my pups behavior as well as both of our confidence. After 6 sessions I feel confident in my ability to handle my dog, relieved that she is no longer reactive to everything that a moves or makes noise. We were provided the tools we needed to effectively communicate and I am happy to say I have no concerns taking my dog anywhere. I would undoubtedly recommend this team to anyone. Thank you! You have changed our lives 110% for the better!‍
