Board and Train

Most dog training requires you to practice 30-45 minutes every single day. Miss a few sessions and your dog regresses. Have a busy week and training falls apart. It's exhausting, and most people don't have the time or energy to stay consistent.

That's the problem Board and Train solves.

Your dog stays with us for 2-8 weeks of immersive, structured training. We handle everything. Daily training sessions, consistency, distractions, problem-solving. When your dog comes home, the hard work is already done. We just teach you how to maintain it.

And for busy households, we make it even easier. We pick up your dog from your door and return them when training is complete. No driving to St. Agatha. No disrupting your schedule. We come to you.

Guelph, Ontario

Serving Dog Owners Across Guelph, Ontario

Guelph has grown fast, and so has its dog population. Between the subdivisions filling in around Kortright Hills and the University of Guelph pulling in students and young professionals who bring dogs into apartment living, more Guelph households are dealing with pulling on leash, reactivity toward other dogs, and pets that never quite settle into house manners. That’s the gap we fill: accessible dog training in Guelph, so families can get started close to home without a long drive across the region for a first consultation.

A lot of what we see in Guelph traces back to the city's own layout. Riverside Park and the Eramosa River trail draw a steady stream of off-leash dogs, so leash reactivity shows up often in our evaluations. Downtown's patios and busy sidewalks near the University mean a dog that jumps or pulls becomes a daily problem fast, not just an occasional one. We build our programs around those specific situations instead of generic obedience drills.

Guelph Neighbourhoods We Work In

We regularly work with clients from Kortright Hills, Westminster Woods, Grange Hill, Onward Willow, and the Two Rivers area, plus downtown Guelph near St. George's Park. Families in Guelph's south end and around the University of Guelph campus book us for both group classes and full board and train stays, often because apartment or condo living leaves little room for daily practice. We also see a steady number of clients from Rockwood, Fergus, Elora, and Puslinch who treat Guelph as their closest service hub rather than driving further into the region.

How Long Dogs Typically Stay

Program length depends on what we see at the evaluation, not a fixed package. Most of our clients land in the 3 to 4 week range for leash manners, jumping, and early reactivity work. Dogs with a longer behavioural history, including resource guarding or dog-to-dog aggression seen around Riverside Park, usually need the full 6 to 8 weeks to see the change hold once they're back home.

Pickup and Drop-off for Guelph Clients

St. Agatha sits about 25 to 30 minutes from most of Guelph via Highway 7, close enough that door-to-door pickup is one of the most-used parts of our board and train program here. Instead of driving to our facility, clients can arrange for us to collect their dog at home, and we bring them back for the go-home session once the program wraps up, walking through exactly how to maintain what their dog learned. For families who prefer to see the facility in person first, an in-person evaluation at our St. Agatha location still works, and several Guelph clients pair that visit with a stop at Riverside Park or Guelph Lake on the same trip. Pickup scheduling is arranged directly with your trainer once a program is booked, so it fits around work and school routines rather than the other way around.

What Guelph Clients Say

Noble K9 holds a 4.95 average rating from more than 700 clients across our service area, and a growing share of those reviews come from families who started with a phone consultation and moved into board and train once they saw how their dog responded. The pattern we hear most from Guelph clients is relief that pickup removed the drive as a barrier, since St. Agatha isn't exactly next door. You can read the full set of reviews on our testimonials page.

If pulling on leash, jumping on guests, or reactivity around other dogs is the daily reality in your home, book a free evaluation and we'll walk you through which program fits best, whether that's board and train, day training, or ongoing group classes.
